It is often the case that a garage has no windows which would let some natural light inside. When buying a garage door, it is worth considering adding an aluminium panel with glazing that will let in more light into the garage interior, while at the same time ensuring an aesthetically pleasing and modern look of the door.
Letting more light into your garage is not only an economical solution to save on electric lighting. The daylight that gets inside helps move around the room easier and even do simple things, such as odd repairs or DIY work. It will also surely contribute to enhancing the atmosphere inside.
The WIŚNIOWSKI brand offers two types of panels: VISUAL and HORIZON. They are dedicated for the UniPro sectional garage doors with smooth panels without ribs or with low or high ribs.
VISUAL glazing
In the UniPro sectional garage doors with widths up to 3,000 mm, the VISUAL glazing can be used. It is an aluminium panel infilled with an acrylic glass unit. The solution makes it possible to obtain a considerable amount of light – the panel can be up to 500 mm in height. Moreover, the panel constitutes a very attractive decorative element of the garage door.
The panel matches the colour of the door, forming a harmonious whole. It may be painted on both sides in the external colour of the door or finished with film coating on the outside.
Depending on individual needs, it is possible to add glazing using one of four types of glass panes with different transparency levels and colours to choose from:
- No-Scratch is a type of glass covered with a special layer enhancing its durability. It is resistant to scratches and provides protection against the effect of sun rays.
- Satin is an opaque glass pane, which limits light transmission to a certain degree.
- The R glass pane is a so-called “frosted glass”. It provides protection against prying stares, while at the same time lightening up the room.
- Grey is a clear glass with a slight brown hue. It beautifully highlights the colour of the garage door, giving it individual character.
HORIZON aluminium panel
It highlights the style of the garage door in a subtle way, making it unique. Together, they form a coherent whole, not only colour-wise.
The glazing can be from 215 up to 250 mm in height. This is where the difference between the HORIZON and VISUAL panels lies. Moreover, the HORIZON panel can be installed in garage doors up to 5,250 mm wide.
The door is available with a single HORIZON panel glazing. It is mounted between the last and last but one panel from the bottom. This way, the light gets diffused within the interior at the eye level of an average adult person. It also makes it possible to maintain the right proportions on the outside.
Another manner of giving the garage door individual character is the addition of LED lighting to the HORIZON panel.
